What's it like to live in Monterey, California? Let's find out.

I recently returned to Monterey from Washington state (near Seattle), having lived here briefly in the late 90s. Jobs lured us away, but we never really "meshed" with Seattle, and longed to return to Monterey. Eventually, we made it happen.

Whenever you move to a new place you have to find your way around, figure out which shops are good, and just generally learn how things work. Additionally, since our house was a long-neglected foreclosure that needed some TLC, I quickly found myself involved with inspections, contractors, permits, and such. "I'm short three water credits? What?"

So I decided to start writing about what I learned along the way. Maybe this site can help someone else who has just moved or is considering relocating to Monterey. Visitors might find useful information here too. In addition to posting to the blog, I am continually adding to the other pages as well. I'm just getting started, so please check back often.
